Home from the sea

Trevor Folk (at left), Mark Hartigan, Nick Ganga and Mike Hofstrand relax on the front steps of Weyburn City Hall during a public ceremony honoring the Red Wings yesterday. They earned the rest: the team played a total of 100 games this season and successfully defended both the Hanbidge and Anavet Cups before appearing in the final game of the week-long national championship in Nanaimo, B.C. on Sunday.

All aboard the Noodle Train

Weyburn Leisure Centre lifeguard Twila Riffel leads Assiniboia Park students Travis Sonnenberg (at left), Brandon Moe, Daniella Benloulou, Boula Siourounis and Jordan Rederburg around the pool on Thursday. Several classes of local elementary school students were visiting the pool for swimming lessons and just to have some fun.

 

Mmm, good treat!

Grade 3 students Stacey Cameron, Courtney Gerger, Brenna Bjorndalen and Angelina Coccimiglio get in their licks on some ice cream at noon on Friday. The Grade 1 Room One class at St. Dominic held the ice cream sale to help raise funds for a class trip to Circle Square Ranch later this spring.
