Hanging on one mile up

Weyburn skydiver Daron Johnston hangs momentarily from
the strut of the jump plane before letting go and plummeting down
to the target at the Weyburn airport, over 5000 feet below. He
was doing a practice dive on Friday evening for the provincial
competition hosted by the Weyburn Sport Parachuting Club, to which
over 30 jumpers from around the province attended on Saturday
and Sunday.

Donna Larson slices up a fresh loaf of bread after
it was taken out of her outdoor oven on Friday morning. Donna
and her husband Ken were doing a trial of bread-baking in the
oven with 24 loaves, as the oven will be moved to the exhibition
grounds next week to provide fresh-baked bread during the Weyburn
Wheat Festival on the weekend of Aug. 8-9. The bread took about
35 minutes to cook, although usually it takes an hour. The Larsons
have had their outdoor bread oven for about a year and a half. |
