Ag Society barns destroyed

Massive fire a diversion for robbery

The barns, used by the Weyburn Agricultural Society for their annual fair, were totally destroyed in the blaze, and a firefighter was injured when a hose exploded at the scene. Weyburn city police believe the fire was used as a diversion to an armed robbery which took place at approximately 3 a.m., in which a city businessman was shot.
