El Rancho robbery arrest

Former Weyburn resident John Raymond Leippy is escorted
into the city's courthouse by Constable Rod Stafford and other
members of the Weyburn Police Service on Monday morning. Leippy
was arrested earlier in the week and charged with attempted murder,
armed robbery with violence, possession of a firearm while prohibited
from doing so, theft of a vehicle, breach of an undertaking and
breach of a condition of release. The charges stem from an incident
on Aug. 1 when the El Rancho Motel was robbed and one of the owners
was shot.
