Blaze at Eddie's restaurant

Weyburn firefighters pour water onto a fire at Eddie's Neighbourhood Grill and Bar on Tuesday afternoon. The blaze began around 11:30 a.m., and crews were on the scene for much of the afternoon. The restaurant was completely destroyed in the fire. No one was injured in the blaze, with around a dozen people in the restaurant at the time the fire began. There is no word yet as to the cause, and fire department officials are continuing their investigation. The fire served as a grim reminder of the importance of preventing fires, with Fire Prevention Week being held Oct. 4-10.
