Going for a dip

St. Dominic Savio Grade 6 students wait to see what
will happen to their carbon-ink art projects when they are pulled
out of a bucket of water. The students were dipping their Halloween
prints in the water to allow the ink to run, making their pictures
of ghosts, witches and other Halloween spooks look scarier. From
left, Nikole Miller, Sarah Lindskog, Kelsey Giroux, Stephanie
Pateman and Dallen Renz were a few of the Grade 6 students in
Gary Cooney's class to take part in the project on Friday afternoon.

A positive identification

Dick Gutfriend of the Weyburn Masonic Lodge helps
kindergarten student Mikyla Jensen put the right finger down
in the correct spot during a fingerprinting session on Wednesday.
The Masons were at Souris School to enrol children in the Operation
Identification program, which provides parents with a copy of
their child's fingerprints in the event they might be needed
by the police. The program is voluntary, and the parents receive
the sole copy of the fingerprints. |
