A frozen protest

Weyburn members of CUPE's Health Care Council are bundled up against the high wind chill and -30 C temperature as they walk the picket lines on Thursday in front of the Weyburn General Hospital. The 700 CUPE workers in the South Central Health District joined their 12,000 fellow union members across the province in a full one-day walk-out in protest of a lack of progress in the contract negotiations with SAHO, the employers' bargaining agent.

Pig surgery

Bryn Benjamin, at left, looks on while Ashley Bakken digs in during a pig dissecting session in their Grade 12 Biology 30 class on Thursday. The class spent the past several weeks studying body systems and was beginning a hands-on investigation of the real thing.
