SCHD Foundation hosting Dinner, Dancing and Diamonds

A fund-raising dinner event is being hosted by the South Central Health District Foundation on Saturday, Feb. 13 at McKenna Hall.

The Valentine event is entitled Dinner, Dancing and Diamonds, and will feature music by the Johner Brothers along with a feature called "Diamonds in Ice." Cocktails will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a supper, and dancing starts at 9 p.m.

Those attending the evening can purchase specially-made ice cubes into which are frozen rhinestones for $5 each. There will be 300 of these Diamonds in Ice, out of which will be one that will contain an emerald-cut diamond.

All of the proceeds from the event will be used to help purchase equipment for the Intensive and Cardiac Care Units at the Weyburn General Hospital. The equipment is estimated to cost $150,000, and needs to be replaced within the next year, said foundation coordinator Gail Mehler.

Tickets are $50 each, with income tax receipts issued for $25, and are limited. They are available in advance only at the foundation office in the Weyburn General Hospital, or at the Weyburn Review, CIBC or from any board or committee member. The deadline for tickets is Wednesday, Feb. 10.

For more information on this event or on the foundation, call Gail Mehler at the Foundation office.
