Leisure Show early bird deadline Sunday

Exhibitors hoping for a free booth at this year's Farm, Home and Leisure Show have until this Sunday, Jan. 31 to register and be eligible for the early-bird draw.

A draw will be made next week to refund the price of a booth to an exhibitor in Weyburn's annual trade fair and show. Approximately 30 have been sold so far for the event, which has been scaled down somewhat this year.

The 1999 show has been shortened to two days and will be held on April 21-22 in the Weyburn Sports Arena and the Weyburn Curling Club - but not in the Colosseum, partly because of scheduling problems and the costs of maintaining the arena's ice surface for the duration of the '98 show.

There will be no stage this year, although the event's food court will still be available. The show's hours of operation will be longer as well.

While the total number of booths is slightly lower this year at 160, prices have also been considerably reduced: powered booths cost $225 each while unpowered booths are $215.

Anyone interested in acquiring a booth for the 1999 Farm, Home and Leisure Show can contact the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce office for registration information.
