The Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show is scheduled to open its doors to the public on June 9 and 10 of this year.
With four months left to go before the oil show opens, one might think there would be plenty of booth space still available at the Colosseum and Sports Arena. But that's not the case, as of the last meeting of the oil show board on Jan. 6, 87 per cent of the indoor spaces were booked while 90 per cent of the outdoor spaces were booked, said Nola Nixkolejsin, secretary to the board.
Nikolejsin says the upcoming oil show is the seventh biennial opening.
"People have come to recognize it more. The reputation and the success over the last seven shows has just been astounding," said Nikolejsin.
Nikolejsin adds the Petroleum Service Association of Canada endorses the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show held in Weyburn and is recognized by industry insiders as being a very important event.
Most of the hotels rooms in Weyburn have been booked during the period of the show, so organizers have been sending interested parties off to Regina and Estevan.
