Planning for science fair visit

Fillmore science fair gold-medal winners Rob Shultz, Jonathan Carteri and Brice Collins chat with science teacher Leo Carteri about their upcoming trip to the Canada Wide Science Fair held in Edmonton in mid-May. Shultz won gold in the life science division, and Carteri and Collins won in engineering, plus earning prizes as best overall exhibits in their categories. These achievements made the group eligible to advance to the national science fair for the second year in a row, and is the third trip for Shultz.

Hockey hopefuls

Weyburn Red Wings player Greg Garner gives some hockey hopefuls a few tips at the team's spring camp, held Saturday at the Colosseum. While most of the try-outs were from Saskatchewan, some came from as far away as Pennsylvania, Indiana, Manitoba and Alberta. The Wings will invite players that have a legitimate shot at getting on the team back to their main camp held in the fall.
