Defying legislation
Members of the Saskatchewan Union of Nurses walk the
picket line at Souris Valley Extended Care Centre on Friday, the
day after the provincial government passed legislation ordering
the striking nurses back to work. The nurses include, from left,
Linda Duffus, Karen Buchanan and Carol Baird. Around 160 nurses
in the South Central Health District joined 8,400 nurses from
around the province on strike.
