Owners of pretty pooches, fabulous felines, beautiful birds or lovely lizards take note - your pet could star in the next edition of the Weyburn Humane Society's Paw Prints 2000 calendar.
The pet photo contest is open to all pet owners, provided they are amateur photographers. Submissions must be unmounted 5x7 or 8x10 colour, horizontal photographs, to be handed in with a completed form available from the Humane Society shelter or at local businesses where posters can be found. The entry fee is $5, and the deadline for entering the contest is June 21.
The photo should feature the pet, but human companions are welcome. Photos must be in focus and well-composed, preferably capturing something about the personality of the pet that makes them unique.
Since twelve photos suitable for each month of the year are required, photographs from all seasons are encouraged.
This is the second year for the Paw Prints calendar, but the first year for the pet photo contest. Photo submissions will be returned to entrants.
The entry deadline is June 21. Photos can be mailed to the Weyburn Humane Society, Box 1062, Weyburn, Sask., or dropped off at the shelter at 57 16th St. The 12 winners will be announced July 1.
