Human dominoes

Around 350 Weyburn Junior High students form a string of human dominoes, Friday afternoon, on the yard in back of the school. The domino challenge was organized by the Student Activities Council, which organizes a number of fun events the students can participate in throughout the school year.

PanCanadian's CO2 project going ahead

PanCanadian's Weyburn CO2 miscible-flood project construction start up and negotiations finalization was announced on May 20 north of Goodwater at the PanCanadian field office. From left are, Gerry Protti, senior vice president PanCanadian Petroleum Ltd., Judy Bradley Minister of Highways and Transportation and Weyburn Big-Muddy MLA, Deputy Premier Dwain Lingenfelter, Energy and Mines Minister Eldon Lautermilch and Robert McPhail CEO and general manager of Basin Electric. The project is expected to extend the life of the Weyburn oilfield by 25 years and garner the province an additional $550 million in oil revenues.
