Happy Father's Day!

Rewarding safe bicyclists

A select group of students from Weyburn elementary schools are rewarded with shiny new bikes in front of the police station, Wednesday, for their skill and ability during the bike safety rodeo. The course is put on by the Weyburn Police Service every year, and focuses on street safety principals, coordination and judgment, based on a demonstration and performance style of teaching. Winners in the grade 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 divisions from left, include: Jessica Fenwick, Greg Acton, Michael Georgacacos, Krysta Buchanan, Jamie Berling, Dillon Winter, Brittany Pegg, Curtis Forseth, Cameron Irwin, T.J. Marcil, Anthony Thompson, Vienna Potyra and in back, from left, Shannon Ell from the SGI Traffic Safety Program (SGI donated the bikes), Const. Rod Stafford, Const. Garth Oberkirsch, and Deputy Mayor Marlene Nedelcov.
