
Stories of the raven

Allie Griffin Art Gallery curator Helen Mamer explains
a legend that lies behind the portrayal of a raven above a Viking
ship, to a Grade 1 class from Haig School on Wednesday afternoon.
The paintings, all depicting various legends involving ravens,
are by Saskatchewan artist Rigmor Clarke, and will be on display
in the gallery through the month of June.

A final kick at the ball

Soccer players in Weyburn's minor soccer league fight
for control of the ball during a set of games last Saturday to
wind the spring season up for the year at Jubilee Park. All of
the soccer fields at the park were in play with several age levels
taking part in the windup day of games along with a barbecue.
