The Crocus 80 theatre group will be holding their annual general
meeting on Monday, Sept. 13, and holding auditions for their
next production in November. Fresh from putting on a week-long series of productions in
August, as part of the Wheat Festival, the community theatre
group is not letting any grass grow under their feet. The annual
meeting will be held at the T.C. Douglas Centre starting at 7
p.m., with auditions for their dinner theatre play to start at
8 p.m. The officers for the organization will be elected, along with
a review of the past year and of the last production, and a look
to the year ahead. The next play will be entitled, Opening Night, said board
member D'Arcy Megenbir, with auditions to be held Sept. 13 and
14. The play will be staged as a dinner theatre at the Elks Hall
on Nov. 17-21, and will be directed by Jody Willis. The play is a comedy by a Canadian playwright, and six cast
members will be auditioned for. A play for the spring production
has also been decided upon, and will be discussed more at the
upcoming meeting. "We're encouraging new people to come out, even if they
don't want to be involved on the stage," said Megenbir. Anyone who would like more information about Crocus 80 or the upcoming plays can contact Megenbir at her home. |
