as a fund-raiser are now on sale in various locations in Weyburn.
The Pawprints 2000 calendar includes submissions from the pet
photo contest. Approximately 80 pictures from 40 applicants were
received from the general public to help the humane society in
their largest fund-raiser of the year.
The winner of an art contest among Weyburn Junior High School
and Weyburn Comprehensive School students was selected to submit
the cover graphic. Bonnie Reich was the successful artist whose
rendition of a dog graces the front page of this year's calendar.
The calendar also includes various tips for pet owners in dealing
with their animals.
A city-wide door-to-door campaign willl start today to help
sales of the calendar.
The proceeds from this year's calendar will go to feed and care for various dogs and cats awaiting a new home. Each calendar costs $10 and are available at the W.H.S. Animal Shelter.
