Ready for the debate

Election forum moderator Bill Holliday waits patiently for the forum to get underway while candidates Brenda Bakken of the Saskatchewan Party, Judy Bradley of the NDP and Joe Weisgerber of the Liberals prepare for their opening statements. The all-candidates forum for Weyburn-Big Muddy was hosted by the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce before a crowd of over 200 people in the Legion Hall on Tuesday night. Election day is set for Thursday, Sept. 16; polling stations will open at 9 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Check out the Weyburn Review next week for the full poll-by-poll results.

Returning the kick

The Weyburn Junior Eagles play their home opener on Saturday at the Comprehensive School field against the Regina Steelers. Joe Broccolo, second from right with ball, receives help from blockers, Christopher Grohn, 32, and Brian Lee, 3, on a kick return in the second half of their game. The Junior Eagles lost the game 50-12.
