Review awarded at convention

At the Saskatchewan Weekly Newspapers Association's 1999 annual convention held in Saskatoon Sept. 21-24, the Weyburn Review was awarded first place for for Best Cultural Story.

The submission, Carved in Stone, was written by Review reporter Greg Nikkel. The story featured Radville stone carver Scott McLeod.

The Weyburn Review news staff also won honourable mention for a series of agriculture stories on the Weyburn Inland Terminal-United Grain Growers and honourable mention for a business story on PanCanadian's C02 project submitted by Stephan Burnett.
