Crocus 80 cast prepares for dinner theatre in November

The cast and crew of Crocus 80 are busily rehearsing for their upcoming dinner theatre production of the play, Opening Night, to be held at the Elks Hall on Nov. 18-21.

The play, by Canadian playwright Norm Foster, is directed by Jody Willis and stars D'Arcy Megenbir and Steve Zackrisson as a couple, Ruth and Jack Tisdale, who go out to see the opening night of a play to mark their 25th wedding anniversary. A comedic conflict arises as Jack would rather be at home watching the seventh game of the World Series.

This comedy features the Tisdales' relationship as well as the play-within-a-play, with cast members Kim Wheeler as the play's director and Catherine Kerr as his girlfriend, Duane Schultz as a washed-up actor who drinks and quotes Shakespeare and Keith Sakatch as a waiter who desperately wants to be an actor.

The cast is rounded out by Tammy Lawrence as a young ingenue inexperienced in stage shows, and Jody Willis plays Clayton, an actor who hams up his accent.

The play runs as a dinner theatre the evenings of Thursday to Saturday, Nov. 18 to 20, and as a matinee the afternoon of Sunday, Nov. 21, all at the Elks Hall. The dinner evenings start with cocktails at 6 p.m. each evening. For ticket information call the Elks Hall.
