Weyburn Junior High student Tonya Mokelki has always shown athletic excellence.

Currently she plays volleyball with the Weyburn Junior High Cobras, as well as basketball, soccer, baseball and is also a member of the Track and Field team.

"I've played soccer and baseball since I was in Grade 3," said Mokelki.

Her reason for starting her sporting career is simple.

"I just love sports," said Mokelki. "That's why I started."

Despite playing so many sports Mokelki has no favourites.

"Volleyball is my strongest sport," she says.

When the option exists, Mokelki would rather play sports than watch them on TV.

"If I can't play sports, then I would rather be there to watch them in person," Molkelki said.

This summer Mokelki played on a provincial championship baseball team. Her basketball team finished third at its home tournament and finished first in Tier 3.

Aside from her sporting interests, Mokelki likes to ride horses on her farm and enjoys reading.
