Variety of entertainment at school Christmas concerts

With Christmas only 25 days away, elementary and junior high schools in the area are gearing up for concerts and plays.

The K-6 students at St. Dominic Savio will present the musical, The Best Christmas Gift Ever, at Weyburn Comprehensive, for one night only on Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.

At St. Michael School the Christmas band concert will be held on Thursday, Dec. 9, starting at 7:30 p.m. to be performed in their gym.

Weyburn Junior High's Christmas band concert will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 15 beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the gym.

At Queen Elizabeth School there will be two Christmas performances in the morning and afternoon of Dec. 16, to accommodate all parents and grandparents. The Night The Reindeer Rocked will be the performance with the Division 2 students acting and the Division 1 students singing.

At the Weyburn Christian Academy, the Christmas celebration will take the form of a family night and potluck at the Signal Hill Arts Centre on Dec. 3 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Part of the program will include the students singing songs of Christmas.

At Haig School, the kindergarten students will perform a musical, Snow Show, on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. in the gym. On the same day, following the kindergarten class, the grades 1-2 classes will present their musical entitled, Christmas on Candy Cane Lane.

The grades 3-4 classes at Haig will perform a musical, Twelve Days of Christmas, on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. in the gym, and the grades 5-6 Haig classes will also present a musical with a multicultural theme, Once on a Housetop, following the grades 3-4 performance.

At Assiniboia Park Elementary School the K-3 classes will present their Christmas musical on Monday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. to be followed by the grades 4-6 classes with their holiday musical, Holly and the Ivy League.
