City police investigate pair of break-ins, purse-snatching

The Weyburn Police Service is investigating a pair of break-ins that appear to have been related, along with a purse-snatching incident, all on the weekend.

Police report Stagecoach Tours was broken into late Saturday night, and tools and other small items were taken.

It is believed that some of the tools taken from Stagecoach Tours were then used to break into the Weyburn Legion Hall sometime overnight Saturday. Cigarettes and cash were stolen.

City police are also investigating a theft of a purse which took place around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. An elderly woman was walking on Bison Avenue in front of Bison Manor when an unknown male stole her purse.

The male is described as six- to six-foot-four in height, with a thin build, dark clothes and a short jacket.

If anyone has information about any of these offences, they are asked to contact the Weyburn Police Service, or they can call toll-free to the Crime Stoppers tips line at 1-800-222-8477. Callers do not have reveal their identity, and calls are not recorded or traced. Tips which lead to an arrest are eligible for a cash reward.
