Warming up by the fire

New Year's Eve revellers warm up by a large bonfire located between the Weyburn Comprehensive School and Queen Elizabeth School during the Millennium Family Fest. The fire roared until past midnight when the fireworks were let go from the Comp's football field to bring in the year 2000. The event included numerous games, activities and food indoors at the first-ever New Year's Eve family event, attended by approximately 6-700 people.

You wannna draw?

Blaine Weimer, David Currie, Shaun Hart, Matt Nyeste and Garnet Hart discuss their options while practising for their upcoming appearance in the junior men's southern playdowns starting on Friday, Jan. 10. While only together for 18 months, the team has gained respect as one of the up and coming junior teams in Saskatchewan. All four players are students at Weyburn Comprehensive School.
