D. J. Gall likes playing basketball because of the action he sees while on the court. "Basketball gives me a chance to shine," said Gall. The Grade 12 Weyburn Comprehensive School student is six foot one inches tall and plays the post or power forward position. Before joining the Eagles, Gall played for the Weyburn Junior High Cobras. "I like playing post because it is rough under the basket," said Gall. " Things can really get rough when you are fighting for the ball. But, I also like playing on the wing because I get to make the big shots. Shooting threes and playing inside are what I like best about basketball." The Eagle power forward also plays volleyball with the Comprehensive School before basketball season starts. When with the volleyball team, he plays outside hitter. "My friends talked me into trying out for the team and then I started liking it." Gall hopes to be playing basketball somewhere next year. As he graduates this year, he hopes to get a scholarship or a chance to play at a university or community college. "I just want to play basketball," said Gall. "It doesn't matter where." |
