Looking over the new sanctuary

Calvary Baptist pastor Rob Ogilvie talks over how the church's new sanctuary turned out with project architect Brian Saunders, following the dedication service for the new building on Sunday afternoon. The idea for the expansion to a new sanctuary took seed two years ago, and the ground was broken on May 30, 1999. The project was mostly completed by the end of November and the congregation began meeting here on Nov. 28, with the dedication service held on Sunday.

New car seat for New Year's baby

Dr. Boyd Stewart presents a new baby car seat to Tara Bendtsen and baby Jorja, as the youngster was the first baby born in Weyburn in 2000. Jorja was born on Jan. 3 at the Weyburn General Hospital. The car seats are being presented by the Saskatchewan Medical Association and the Saskatchewan chapter of the College of Family Physicians to all New Year's babies born in the province to promote safety and good health. Dr. Stewart is the SMA's representative for the South Central Health District.
