A growing industry

Bernie Kot runs a 48-head bison herd, located on his farm north west of Weyburn - one of 14 bison operations that have popped up in south east Saskatchewan as interest in the industry grows. Bison producers in Saskatchewan are planning a killing plant for North Battleford within four years. They plan to work together in a new generation co-operative to market bison meat and maintain control over their industry.

Leading the cheers

The Weyburn Comprehensive School cheerleaders perform one of many routines for the student body of Haig School at assembly on Friday morning, to demonstrate the cheers they do for the Eagles sports teams. Several members of the cheerleading squad are former Haig students, including the coach.
