Plans for the Weyburn Comprehensive School's graduation of the Class of 2000 are mostly in place, with around 167 graduates set to take part at this point, said school organizer Bob King. Graduation day has been set for Wednesday, June 28, with the full rehearsal to take place the day before. Decorating of the Curling Rink will take place on Sunday, June 25, starting at 1:30 p.m. Rehearsal is to start at 1:15 p.m. on June 27, with all participants to pick up their caps and gowns, and those giving speeches to practice them following rehearsal. A change of clothing for those attending after-grad at the Curling Rink is to be taken to the rink after rehearsal. On grad day, the group grad photo is to take place at 2:45 p.m. in the Cafetorium, followed by the punch reception with the public at 3 p.m. The ceremonies take place in the gymnasium starting at 5 p.m. Each graduate will have two reserved seats, and all other seats are general for the public. The barbeque follows the ceremonies at 7:15 p.m. in the Curling Rink, with a brief program and grad video at 9 p.m., followed by the dance for grads, parents and guests. The after-grad chem-free party, featuring a wide variety of games and activities at the Curling Rink, kicks off at midnight. |
