Fun at the beach!

John Cugnet, left, and Jackie Gibson bury their friend Lindsay Jacob in the sand, helped by Calli Cugnet at the Nickle Lake Regional Park beach on Saturday. The trio were among the several people enjoying the great weather at the lake this weekend. Campsites were full throughout the weekend and several people were seen fishing both on the lake and from shore.

DARE role models

Const. Kelly Newman, one of two DARE police instructors in Weyburn, introduces three Grade 11 students from the Weyburn Comprehensive School as role models for the DARE program. The students are, from left, Joni Bruder, Meagan Duncan and Michael Larson. The Grade 6 class at Queen Elizabeth School listened with rapt attention for over an hour, as they asked the high schoolers questions about life in the higher grades and how to handle the pressure to try drugs and alcohol. For more information on the DARE Program see the May 24th issue of the Weyburn Review, page 2A.
