Taking an outdoor swim to cool off from hot summer days will again be possible when the Weyburn Leisure Centre closes its indoor pool and opens the outdoor facility on June 12.

The indoor pool will close at the end of the day on June 5, and crews will prepare the outdoor pool for its opening, which is a week later than recent years.

This is the first season since the City of Weyburn took over the operation of the pool from Serco.

The Don Mitchell Paddling Pool, located at the Young Fellows Tot Lot on Coteau Avenue (across from Haig School), will open on Monday, June 5. The hours for the free drop-in pool will run, weather permitting, from 1-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. until June 30.

From July 2 to Aug. 27, the hours will be 10 a.m. to noon, 1-5 and 6-8 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 1-5 and 6-8 p.m. on Sundays.
