Race to the finish

Participants in the 100-metre race give it their all at the Haig School Hershey Track Meet, Friday. The meets are held at schools all over North America, with the ultimate winners eventually competing in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Two years ago, a student from Queen Elizabeth School made it all the way to the finals. At the Haig meet, students competed in 100, 200, 400 and 800-metre runs, ball throw, standing jump and high jump.

Weyburn Junior High award winners

The Weyburn Junior High School awarded students for their excellence in academics, sports, and the arts at their annual Colour Night, held Thursday in the school gym. Among the winners were left to right, Kaley Mahaffey (Grade 7), Megan Leach (Grade 9) and Drew Krainyk (Grade 8), each presented the Award of Excellence for their grade. The award celebrates the accomplishments of a student from each grade who exemplifies academic, extra-cirricular, community and interpersonal achievement.
