Construction on the new Weyburn Credit Union building worth over $3.2 million is almost finished, and plans are being made for a grand opening. "We're very excited and construction is going well," said CEO Allan Messer. "We didn't leave a lot of time - we've scheduled the official opening for right after construction is done." The official opening ceremonies will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 6 at the new CU building that encompasses 201-207 Coteau Ave. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be conducted and several dignitaries will speak briefly to the public. Tours of the new building will be held until 11:30 a.m., at which time there will be presentations and greetings from affiliates. At noon sharp, the community room will be dedicated to the people of this area and opened for a public lunch that will last until 4 p.m. Tours of the new building will continue. The tour will begin in the wealth management area, located on the main floor, and will continue through the commercial lending and commercial deposit areas to upstairs, most of which is given over to administrative offices. The new building, which will be annexed to the existing one at 221 Coteau Avenue, was built to accommodate the growth of the business. |
