Weyburn's schools have set the dates for the outdoor play days in the month of June, and some parents' associations are also planning for end-of-year events.

Haig School's play day is set for Friday, June 16, and will include a variety of outdoor games, such as running, broad jump and an obstacle course. The Grade 6 grad will take place on June 23 at 6:30 p.m.

At Queen Elizabeth School, the Division I play day will be held the morning of Friday, June 23, with swimming in the afternoon for all students except Gr. 6, who will go bowling.

The Grade 6 awards and end-of-year luncheon will take place on Tuesday, June 27, with a school swim in the afternoon.

Play day at Assiniboia Park is on Wednesday, June 14, in the morning, weather permitting, followed by a school swim in the afternoon.

The Assiniboia Park parent association will take care of the Grade 6 farewell, to be held on Monday, June 26, which includes a supper or barbecue and awards. The parents will also hold their last hot lunch of the school year on Thursday, June 22.

At Souris School, the play day is scheduled for Monday, June 19, including a variety of outdoor games and activities.

The play day at St. Dominic Savio will be on Friday, June 16, with the alternate date of June 19 in the case of inclement weather.

Weyburn Junior High will hold an activities day on Tuesday, June 13, including swimming and a hot dog lunch.

St. Michael Junior High will hold a games day on Friday, June 9, where a variety of games are planned for the students. In the morning, the students will take part in track and field events like races, long jump, high jump and discus throw. Ball games will take up the first part of the afternoon at Jubilee Park, followed by fun games back at the school, including egg toss and tug-of-war.

As the school's awards night is on June 8, the alternate date for games day may be on Monday or Tuesday, June 12 or 13.
