Creelman's 'Biggest Little Fair' set to go on Monday, July 17

The final details are coming together for the 96th annual Creelman Agricultural Society Fair, touted as the 'Biggest Little Fair in Saskatchewan,' which will be held on Monday, July 17.

The festivities kick off at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Creelman Hall. The breakfast, hosted by the Creelman Hall Board, will run until 9:30 a.m.

Entries for the general parade will assemble on the former school grounds before the 10 a.m. start. Around 60 entries, including a variety of floats and two marching bands, have registered for the parade. There is no charge to enter a float in the parade, and entries are still welcome. For more information, contact Doreen Holyoak. The parade will proceed along the highway, turn off and go down Main Street, and will conclude at the fair grounds.

Following the parade, the family pet can have a share of the limelight at the fairgrounds in the cat and dog show. There will also be a livestock show featuring horses, cattle, poultry and rabbits, and there will be a 4-H calf show and sale.

For the day, the rink will be home to an exhibition of craft and commercial displays, baking, school projects, 4-H displays, household crafts, plants, field and garden displays and photography.

There will be two pig scrambles, one in the early afternoon and another later in the afternoon, where anyone can compete to see who can catch a pig the fastest and take it over the finish line.

Throughout the day, there will be baseball, slow pitch and bingo. Refreshments will be available at the concessions and beer gardens.

For the kids, there will be rides and amusement at the kiddie midway, along with face painting and a magic show.
