The Milestone 4-H Beef Club had their Achievement Day on July 2 at the Weyburn Fair grounds. The many spectators who came to support our members helped make the day a resounding success. Lorraine Terry, the master of ceremonies, started the day with the introduction of our judge, Shane Kaufmann. Dean McKim, the ringman was also acknowledged.

The following are the placings in the various categories.

Senior Questionnaires: Michele Sambrook, Curtis Sambrook and Aaron Wilkie.

Intermediate Questionnaire: Diana Sambrook, Jessica Galbraith and Amanda Bell.

Junior Questionnaire: Trevor Bell, Wade Galbraith and Scott Bell.

Senior Record Book: Aaron Wilkie, Michele Sambrook and Teresa Sherman.

Intermediate Record Book: Amanda Bell, Levi Elford and Jessica Galbraith.

Junior Record Book: Jesse Elford, Scott Bell and Trevor Bell.

Senior Judging: Scott Bell, Trevor Bell and Monica Sherman and Jessie Elford tied for third.

Senior grooming: Aaron Wilkie, Vaughn Jones, Kristin Cole.

Heavy Steer Class: first, Ryan Thomas, second, Scott Bell, third, Chandra Thomas, fourth, Aaron Wilkie, fifth, Amanda Bell.

Grand Champion Steer: Ryan Thomas.

Reserve Champion Steer: Jesse Elford.

Member of the Year: Levi Elford.

The event was followed by a barbecue supper. Wade Beck was the leader of the beef project. Wade works with a group of people from ages 7 - 21 and has the respect and co-operation of each of them.

The Milestone 4-H Beef attended the Weyburn Fair Annual 4-H Show on July 3-5. On Monday the members participated in the judging and team grooming classes. In the Intermediate Team Grooming Diana Sambrook, Levi Elford and Bryan Sherman placed second, Amanda Bell placed first in Intermediate Judging and Curtis Sambrook placed second in Senior Judging. Monday afternoon was the open show where Curtis Sambrook won Reserve Champion Bull with his bull calf.

Tuesday was the Steer Show. The members placed as follows: Diana Sambrook, ninth, Levi Elford, eighth, Teresa Sherman, eighth, Monica Sherman, third, Trevor Bell, fifth, Wade Galbraith, 13th, Vaughn Jones, seventh, Jesse Elford, second, Jessica Galbraith, third, Bryan Sherman, ninth, Kristin Cole, second, Rhys Thomas, sixth, Amanda Bell, tenth, Ryan Thomas, fifth, Chandra Thomas, sixth, Scott Bell, second, and Aaron Wilkie, ninth. Ryan Thomas then went on to place third in Intermediate Showmanship. Milestone placed fifth with the Group of Eight Steers.

Wednesday morning was the heifer show. Michele Sambrook placed seventh, Aaron Wilkie, eighth, Curtis Sambrook, 15th, Levi Elford, 15th, and Ryan Thomas, first. Milestone also placed second in the Best Kept Stall Award.

Wednesday afternoon was the steer sale.
