Cooling off at the beach

The beach at Nickle Lake Regional Park is filled with sunbathers and youngsters trying to cool off under hot sunny skies on Saturday afternoon. The mercury reached 29 degrees on Saturday, causing many boaters, fishermen and campers to converge at Nickle Lake to enjoy the summer weather while it's here.

Two top Fords

Harold Vanoene displays two Fords which were both the best cars made in their respective years: a 1929 Model A Sports Roadster, and a 1964 Thunderbird convertible. The older car was bought from another collector in Weyburn, and the T-bird is one of three that Vanoene owns. He was first introduced to the love of antique and classic cars by the late Dr. Wayne Squires, who was himself an avid collector of old cars. Check out the July 26 issue of the Weyburn Review for the feature "A labour of love" for more information.
