This September, there will be some new faces at the front of the classroom in the city's schools. At Haig School, Lindsay Smith will be teaching on a one-year replacement contract. Dara Cunningham is also on a one-year replacement contract at Souris School. There are no new teachers expected for Assiniboia Park Elementary School. St. Dominic Savio School will have a new vice-principal in Kelly Christopherson who will also double as a Grade 6 teacher. Other Grade 6 duties will be fulfilled by new teacher Chad Klein. There are two new Grade 4 teachers, Renee Kravchuk and Susan Benning. Teaching special education will be Joanne McLeod. Crystal Jordens will take up French duties at the Weyburn Junior High School. The core French at St. Michael Junior High will be taught by Val Choo-Foo. Also new to St. Mike's will be Home Economics teacher Bonita Larson. There are several new additions to the Weyburn Comprehensive School staff. Jesse Shupe will be the new vice-principal, and the choir will also have a new director in Colleen Weimer. Darren Johnson will cover Mathematics for the first semester on a temporary contract. Computers and Information Processing will be taught by Leah Birnie, and Kelly Glaspey will teach Economics, History and Social Studies. Darlene Martin's duties will be split between English class and the resource centre. Jodi Abel will teach Alternate Education. The Home Economics wing of the school will be shared by two new teachers. Stella Hui will teach Home Economics on a one-year replacement contract, and Linda Aitken will teach Cosmetology. |
