Beating the heat in the water
 |
|
Swimmers of all ages fill the water or sunbathe poolside
to try and beat the heat on Thursday at the Leisure Centre's
outdoor pool. The mercury reached 32.5 degrees, part of the trend
of hot summer weather present for the last couple of weeks and
continuing into this week, sure to drive city and area residents
to find ways to cool off. |

Stooking contest
 |
|
Tyler Metheral (left) and Clayton Pierce of the Wheat
Festival contingent entered in the stooking contest make easy
work of their row during the Saturday portion of the competition.
The contest was followed on both Saturday and Sunday by the threshing
bee, using antique threshing equipment to thresh out the grain
in a demonstration held on the exhibition grounds. For more coverage
and photos check out the August 16 issue of the Weyburn Review. |
