Betty Fox promotes cancer run

Betty Fox, mother of the late Terry Fox, is greeted by Willa-Mae Donald of Weyburn following a talk at the Milestone Drop-in Centre on Thursday. Betty shared some of her experiences from when Terry ran his Marathon of Hope 20 years ago, and how the Terry Fox Foundation has been growing and thriving since, raising funds for cancer research. She is on a community tour in the weeks leading up to the 20th annual Terry Fox Run, to be held across Canada on Sunday, Sept. 17. Rounding the barrels

Weyburn barrel racer Amy Percy makes the first of three turns during her first ride in the barrel racing event at the Weyburn High School Rodeo on Thursday. She turned in a time of 15.19 seconds for her ride, with a second attempt on Friday. Over 80 high school rodeo participants came from across the province for the two-day event, for a chance to win prizes or scholarships.
