Weyburn city police are investigating a number of recent break-ins to city businesses, including three on Monday night, and a day care broken into two days in a row. On Monday, break-and-enters took place at Charnell's Studio on Coteau Avenue, and United Carpet and Class Cycles, both on First Avenue Northwest. In all three cases, windows were broken as the culprit or culprits entered, and small amounts of cash were taken. The Soo Line Day Care on 11th Street was broken into on Aug. 29 and 30, with a window broken out on both dates. A small amount of cash was taken in the first instance, and it is not known if anything was taken the second night. All break-ins are under investigation by the city police. Anyone with information about any of these crimes are asked to call the city police, or call the toll-free Crime Stoppers tips line at 1-800-222-8477. Calls to Crime Stoppers which lead to an arrest are eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000. Calls are not traced or recorded, and callers do not have to give their name. |
