The Canadian Half-Pints, Canada's shortest and funniest group of hoopsters, will make their way to Weyburn Wednesday, Nov. 1 for the annual Mini-Hoops Basketball Benefit at the Comp in support of the Weyburn Police Service's Drug Abuse Resistance Education program. With an average height of 4-foot-2, the Half-Pints have often been compared to the legendary Harlem Globetrotters. Like the Globetrotters, the Half-Pints have been successful while entertaining the crowd, only dropping 11 of their 3,500-plus contests. Their oppoenents in this contest will be the Weyburn Police Service Celebrity Basketball Team. While displaying their athletic ability on the court the Half-Pints also bring the message of their Don't Tease program, which has inspired countless young people to show respect for others throughout the country. Tickets are available by phone or at the door for $10 each or $40 for a family of five. As the beneficiary, $1.50 per ticket and 100 per cent of program sales will be donated to the DARE program.
