Driver critically injured in single vehicle rollover Monday

A driver is in critical condition in a Regina hospital following a single vehicle rollover near Goodwater early on Monday morning.

The Weyburn RCMP were called just after 6 a.m. to the scene situated three miles south and one mile west of Goodwater.

Police say the driver lost control of his vehicle on loose gravel and rolled several times, throwing the driver from the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle escaped with minor injuries.

The driver was taken first to Weyburn General Hospital, then was transferred to Regina where he remains in critical condition. No names have been released by the police yet.

Weyburn city police are continuing to investigate an attempted robbery of the 385 Motel on Sept. 20. The suspect indicated at the time he had a gun but no weapon was seen.

The suspect is described as a male in his late teens or early 20s, approximately five-foot-eight-inches with a slim build.

Police are also investigating a theft and break-in to a 1997 Chev truck parked near Janke's Meat Shop on Sept. 22. A lazer level plane, a small set of walkie talkies, a Motorola flip phone and a Cobra Microtalk 650 flip phone were stolen.

If anyone has information about these offences, they are asked to call the Weyburn Police Service, or call the toll-free Crime Stoppers tips line at 1-800-222-8477.

Crime Stoppers does not record or trace calls, and they will pay a cash reward of up to $2,000 for a tip that leads to the arrest of the culprit or culprits responsible.
