Weyburn native Boyd Ballard began his final collegiate season on a high as he back-stopped Providence College over Miami, 5-0 at home Oct. 21.

Ballard, who has posted a 38-37-2 record over his tenure in the Providence net, was solid as in the season opener, stopping all 30 Miami shots for the shutout and was named the game's first star.

Ballard is a former member of the Weyburn Red Wings.
