It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Holly Andrews, Hailey Walkeden and Courtney Walkeden help Scott Paxman hoist a fir tree into its temporary home at the Young Fellows Christmas tree lot, located behind the Co-op on Coteau Avenue. Young Fellows members unloaded 1,200 trees Saturday morning, in preparation for the opening of the lot on Saturday, Nov. 25. The lot will be open Saturdays from 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Sundays from 12-5 p.m., and weekdays from 12-8:30 p.m., until Dec. 23. The Young Fellows will sell a variety of trees, along with wreaths, stands and tree bags.

Part of the big picture

Nina Budimcic, formerly a student at Weyburn Junior High and now attending the Comp, shows her contribution to the big wall-sized mural in the junior high's band room. She worked on the mural while a member of the art club last year, and won a trip to an art camp as a result of her work. This mural extends across the entire wall, and was worked on over a number of years by several artists. Check out the Nov. 22 issue of the Weyburn Review for related feature story.
