Radville, Francis students win in farm safety poster contest

Tawnie Wolter and Sienna Larsen, both Grade 9 students at Radville Regional High School, and Courtney Bailey, a Grade 4 student at Francis School, are winners in this year's Saskatchewan Labour Farm Safety Poster Contest. They are three of 13 winners selected from more than 3,000 entries from Saskatchewan schools.

Tawnie's grand prize poster and Sienna and Courtney's first prize posters are featured along with the other first prize winning posters in the 2001 Farm Safety Calendar being released at Agribition next week.

The poster contest and calendar are Saskatchewan Labour initiatives designed to help educate students and their families about farm safety.

The contest was open to all Saskatchewan students from Kindergarten to Grade 9. The grand prize winner, Wolter, was awarded $100. The first prize winners in each category were awarded $50 and the second prize winners were awarded $25. The winning artwork can be viewed at the Saskatchewan Labour web site, www.labour.gov.sk.ca.
