A Weyburn senior women's curling team will join two other teams from the area in Prince Albert for the provincials in January.

Skip Melba Bent, along with lead Bernice Haug, second Diane Schneider and third Shirley Miller, qualified out of the B playdowns, held on Dec. 9 and 10.

Bent beat Edith Rishofski of Regina in the final by a score of 8-7.

"We curled well as a team," said Bent.

Bent will face Shirley Palendat of Wawota out of the A playdowns and and Crystal Frisk of Regina from the C playdowns.

Ten teams took part in the qualifier in Coronach Dec. 9-10.

The three qualifiers will compete on the ice in an eight-team round robin tournament.

Each team in the provincial round robin will be guaranteed seven games with the winners competing in the final match for the provincial title.

The winner of the provincials will go on to the Dominion in Calgary.
