Spring is on the way

Pools of water from melted snow provide a mirror of River Park and the sky above as warm spring winds blow on Monday. Snow banks have been slowly disappearing in recent weeks as the weather warms up, with the first official day of Spring arriving on Tuesday. Another sign of spring was the blasting of ice on the river near the park, which began on Monday to help prevent flooding when the river flows start to peak in the coming weeks.

The effects of reflexology

Arian Dew and Melissa Hengen explain the findings of their experiement on reflexology to judges at the Southeast Regional Science Fair held in Fillmore 33 Central School on Friday. Ten schools participated in the annual science fair. The winners were Megan Howse and Shannon Lozinsky from Pangman School with their project on "Walkerton Water," and Weyburn Comp student Ali Agazadeh Naini with "A Comparison of Sunspot Areas Determined by Utilizing SOHO Images and 35mm Photography." The winners of the fair will now move on to compete at the National Science Fair in Ontario.
