The Weyburn Red Wings gather with the MemberCARE Cup
after defeating the Nipawin Hawks 3-2 in Game 6 of the SJHL league
finals in Nipawin on Friday. In a hard-fought series, the Wings
prevailed after taking the series lead for the first time in
Game 5 on home ice. The Wings will now continue to the Anavet
Cup playoff series against the OCN Blizzard from The Pas, Manitoba.

The Big Game

A group of Grade 7 students take the "ice"
and dance Thursday afternoon as they are cheered on by their
teammates during a dancing competition put on by the Student
Action Council (SAC). The competition, nicknamed "The Big
Game," was modelled after a hockey game, with the two teams
earning points based on their ability to spontaneously make up
funny and creative dance routines. |
