Comp art students put up mural

The members of Eltje Degenhart's art class sit on the roof of the Weyburn Comprehensive School, under their finished mural, which was put up on the gymnasium wall facing Second Avenue N.W. In the back row from left is teacher Donna Klein, Tara Tripp, Tanner Soroka and Kendra Gibbons. Woodcutters

Shirley Herbel and Tanis Thomas try their hand as woodcutters, putting their all into sawing off a chunk of a log resting on a stand, as part of a log-sawing competition at the Fifth Street Social Club on Saturday afternoon. The pair finished their first try at a minute and three seconds, and each team of women, men and mixed members were given two attempts to set the fastest time. The competition was one of several events at the 4th Annual Redcoat Trail Texas Cookout and Jamboree, a day-long fund-raiser for an elevator at Elk's Hall.
